Abstract: the aims of this study were threefold: 1) to investigate the relation of burnout with hardiness, self-esteem and somatic symptoms among Kuwaiti doctors and nurses.2) to examine the differences in these variables according to some demographic variables( sex, profession, experience and age). 3) to determine the predictors of burnout from the following variables (hardiness, self-esteem and somatic symptoms). the sample consists of 231 Kuwaiti Doctors and nurses. The age range was (20-58) years. four scales were administrated: 1) Maslach burnout inventory; 2) Hardiness scale 3)Self-esteem scale, and 4) somatic Symptoms scale.
